Born in London and now living close to the New Forest, I work in a variety of media, with a slight preference for oils.
As a child, I had a natural ability to draw and following visits with my father to race meetings, I found a world of colours and figures which attracted me to ‘painting’.
As a student, with a talent for mathematics, my artwork was put aside for many years. A gift from my wife of a small box of watercolour paints rekindled my passion for painting.
Although much of my early work centred on horses, racehorses in particular, I have extended my range into Landscapes, Seascapes, Figurative work and Still Life along with reproduction in the style of Old Masters.
I am essentially a self-taught artist with some private tuition from professional artists whilst living in Brighton.
My work has been exhibited in London, The Thames Valley, East Anglia and throughout Southern England. I also had a one-man exhibition at the National Horseracing Museum in Newmarket.
I have sold my pictures and prints to clients in Europe who particularly favour subjects which, to them, represent British scenes and activities.
Some of my works have been purchased by visitors from Canada!!
